Botulinum toxin

This treatment has been in the market for more than 20 years and the Spanish Agency for Drugs has approved the use of Botulinum toxin type A for cosmetic surgery.

The Botulinum toxin type A is a purified protein that is injected in tiny amounts in the muscles of the face that have excessive activity. Like this, they are relaxed and the appearance of dynamic wrinkles is prevented or softened if they already existed

Is the result immediate?

You will gradually see the results. Within some days, you will start noticing the effects and you will start to look fresher and more relaxed. The effect will last for 4-6 months since the application. The treatment is not painful, as a very tiny amount is injected with a very fine needle and, in addition, it does not interfere with your lifestyle, as you do not need to ask for a day off to have it applied.

Safety with the Botulinum toxin type A

The protein included in the Botulinum toxin type A has been used for many years and its safety and effectiveness have been conscientiously checked. As it happens with all drugs, the Botulinum toxin type A can cause reversible side effects. Ask your doctor for further information. If any side effect is produced, it will normally be temporary, mild and moderate..

Facial rejuvenation with Juvederm ® Restylane® hyaluronic acid

What is the hyaluronic acid filler?

The hyaluronic acid is a sugar molecule naturally generated by our body. By providing the skin with this substance, we can eliminate facial wrinkles and expression lines. The treatment involves injecting hyaluronic acid in gel with a very thin needle, providing volume and filling the marked areas. As the hyaluronic acid is created through biosynthesis in the laboratory, the patients do not need to undergo an allergy test before receiving the treatment.

What is the hyaluronic acid filler?

It is appropriate for any area of the body needing it, including the folds and lines surrounding the mouth, cheeks, nose, etc. The procedure can be used to favor the facial outline or to improve the aspect of scars, like the ones caused by acne. It can also be used to improve your lips' size and shape. All these areas will clearly improve their aspect after the filling treatment with hyaluronic acid.

Benefits of filling lines and wrinkles with hyaluronic acid

Immediately improves the aspect of lines and wrinkles and provides the lips with more volume and moisturizing for those who wish to highlight this part of the face. Risks are slight, as the materials contained in the hyaluronic acid filler are similar to the ones in our body and, therefore, in most of the cases no adverse reactions are produced. One of the main benefits of hyaluronic acid is that the product's results can last longer than the ones obtained with other wrinkle reducing agents, such as collagen and fat injections.

Sculptra® wrinkle and line filler

The Sculptra® treatment progressively reverts aging without turning to aggressive procedures or surgical operations. It is injected in the dermis through small infiltrations that produce a very slight feeling of discomfort. Subsequently, the product induces the creation of new collagen in a natural and progressive way, so the patient gradually perceives the improvement of his/her aspect. The aesthetic result desired is achieved after several sessions (an average of 3). Once the treatment is finished the results last for a long time, up to 2 years. Maintenance sessions are available. The active substance of Sculptra® is polylactic acid (PLA). It is of synthetic origin, not animal, and it does not require an allergy test after the treatment. It is easy to apply, efficient and safe. It is completely and gradually eliminated and no residues remain in the organism..

What is Sculptra®?

The skin aging is characterized by two things that usually appear simultaneously. The deterioration of the superficial layers of the skin produces the appearance of blemishes and fine wrinkles. At the same time, the support tissues suffer a destructuring slimming (dermis and adipose tissue), so deep wrinkles and flaccidity appear. Any facial rejuvenation treatment should start by recovering the structure and elasticity of the facial deep tissues. A few years ago, this was impossible for those patients who did not want undergo surgery. Sculptra's action mechanism is based on the cutaneous renewal at cellular level with the progressive formation of new collagen. In practice, the Sculptra treatment provides a clear clinical improvement with no need of conventional surgery. .

Chemical peels

Chemical peels are used to remove blemishes, scars and wrinkles on the skin. The peel involves the application of different chemical products in the skin with the object of exfoliating and renovating its external layers.

Depending on its depth, the peel is efficient in dealing with epidermis melasma, improves the aspect of the skin damaged by the sun, reduces fine wrinkles, improves acne and varicella scars and bleaches or eliminates blemishes. The number of layers eliminated depends on the penetration power of the chemical substance

Chemical peel with glycolic acid and mandelic acid

The superficial chemical peel is efficient in dealing with epidermis melasma, improves the aspect of the skin damaged by the sun, reduces fine wrinkles, improves acne and varicella scars and bleaches or eliminates blemishes. The number of layers eliminated depends on the penetration power of the chemical substance. The chemical peel is specially used on the face. When applied on the hands, it is less efficient and the results less predictable.

"PEELS ARE ANTI-CARCINOGENIC"

Cosmetic Dermatology for Residents held in Leon on 10 and 11 February 2012. There are studies that demonstrate that the application of chemical peels (i.e. with glycolic, salycilic, mandelic, lactic and phenol acids...) stimulate the expression of P53 protein, increasing the body's defenses against skin cancer. "Thus, after sunscreens, the daily use of a cream or gel of any acid that produces a peel effect in your skin is a great anti-carcinogenic. In fact, the strategies to prevent skin cancer must change in the near future, as the use of peeling gels or creams will be as important as the use of sunscreens", declared Dr. Julián Conejo-Mir, Head of Dermatology at the Hospital Virgen del Rocío de Sevilla and President of the AEDV (Spanish Academy of Dermatology and Venerology). Regarding this skin cancer prevention effect, Dr. Adolfo Planet reminds his patients in Valencia that using dermato-cosmetic products containing in their formulation low concentration acids, for their safe use at home, is as important as going to the practice to periodically have medical peelings done (with glycolic, salycilic, mandelic, phenol, lactic acids, etc.)

Facial mesotherapy.

Facial mesotherapy is a treatment based on the microinjection of vitamins, hyaluronic acid and minerals in the dermis. It provides the tissues with vitality, nutrition and luminosity and restores the facial outline, improves the flaccidity of the face, neck, bosom and/or hands, and provides extra moisturizing to the skin. It is also advisable for skins with fine expression lines. Facial mesotherapy offers another efficient alternative treatment to reduce flaccidity, stimulate the activity of fibroblasts and, thus, improve the regeneration and cutaneous moisturizing, combining it with the treatments mentioned above..

Facial carboxytherapy

The carboxytherapy is the percutaneous and subcutaneous application of carbon dioxide with therapeutic and aesthetic purposes. The application of CO2 is made with a piece of equipment able of controlling the gas volume (cm3) with a constant pressure during an established period of time. The gas must be of anaerobic medicinal type, with 99.9% of purity. This therapy has been used since 1930 at the thermals of Royat, France, where the beneficial effect of CO2 produced by thermal waters was discovered. There, a group of cardiologists started to use the technique to treat peripheral, organic and functional arthropathies and, in Argentina, Dr. Dicio talks about subcutaneous carbon dioxide. In 1953, Dr. Jean Bapriste Romuef published a work with 20 years of experience on the application of subcutanean CO2. Today, the carboxytherapy technique has been improved through a piece of equipment that can distribute CO2 in a controlled way (gas doses and distribution) and the methodology has been introduced in aesthetics medicine for the treatment of cellulite, localized adiposity, the reduction of stretch marks and flaccidity.
